This was a nice flight.  Duration was approximately six hours and forty-five minutes.  Once we climbed "above the weather", we had a nice ride down under.  Passengers were satisfied for the most part so that's what counts.  OK, let's get to what we are really here to see ~ the screenshots!

VISUAL HIGHLIGHTS (Singapore 861 SUPER)

Last night was an adventure as I made my way from Virtual Hong Kong International (VHHH/HKG) to Changi International Airport (WSSS/SIN) aboard Singapore Flight #861on the first leg of my Virtual A380 Tour on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.  The weather was pretty muggy with low visibility in both locations with shifting winds, however, when we were at cruising it was pretty nice.  About an hour into the voyage we hit sunset and when we touched down it was already pitch black.  Flight time was approximately two hours and forty-five minutes as our TAS (True Air Speed) was circa 485kts.  Add-on for this equipment is provided by Project Airbus.  You all are the greatest - PA!

 After an hour and fifteen minutes, the sun starts to go down...

 We had a rough landing with low visibility and and shifty winds, however, we made it down safely with a nice hard reverse to accompany it.

 Reunited at last...  Ready to go to Melbourne, Australia?  I sure as hell am!

VISUAL HIGHLIGHTS (Cathay 831 Heavy)

Last Wednesday night was an eventful one as I simulated my fourth transpolar operation real time, (15 hours and 05 minutes), and my second one to Hong Kong from the East Coast (KJFK.)  Despite the fact that Cathay Pacific does operate the -200ER series of the 777 in real life, we operated this mission with the fictitious -200LR series as it was the only livery I could find for my payware add-on program, PSS Just Flight 777.  (Still searching for a proper regular -300ER livery!)  The purpose of this simulation was to relocate from the US to Asia so that I may start my Asian/Australian tour of the Airbus 380.

Happy Independence Day!

I would like to take this time to wish all citizens of the United States of America a Happy Independence Day.  I would also like to thank our U.S. Forces both home and abroad for what they have done to ensure the freedom that we experience in this country on a daily basis.  Lastly, but certainly not least, I would like to pay tribute to those who have died to have given us the these freedoms.  For they, we would not be the United States of America of today.

Welcome Message

I never knew dreams really existed until the afternoon of June 17th, 1996 when I took my first steps in a (commercial) aircraft.  I really didn't know what to expect other than experiences of what other people had told me at the time.  I was thankful enough that I was old enough at the time to appreciate what it was like to take my first real-life flight, some 7 hours and 55 minutes non-stop from Detroit Metro to Amsterdam, (at that time Northwest Flight 68) operating as a Boeing 747.  Suffice to say no words coming from my mind through this keyboard can explain the emotions and determination I had that evening but one thing is for sure: once the dream came, it would last a lifetime.

My blog goes out to those who have been an inspiration and motivation to me to start it.  To keep a journal and record of my thoughts, experiences, and dedications to those who have kept this dream alive and well.
