VISUAL HIGHLIGHTS (Cathay 831 Heavy)

Last Wednesday night was an eventful one as I simulated my fourth transpolar operation real time, (15 hours and 05 minutes), and my second one to Hong Kong from the East Coast (KJFK.)  Despite the fact that Cathay Pacific does operate the -200ER series of the 777 in real life, we operated this mission with the fictitious -200LR series as it was the only livery I could find for my payware add-on program, PSS Just Flight 777.  (Still searching for a proper regular -300ER livery!)  The purpose of this simulation was to relocate from the US to Asia so that I may start my Asian/Australian tour of the Airbus 380.

Enjoy the following visual highlights -JC:

Terminal 7, Gate 6.  Making last minute preparations before we push.

Making way past Terminal 6 on ALPHA.  Of course, I had to get a JFK Tower shot!

Waiting to line up for 22R

 Ready to go.

 Full throttle and rolling.

 Rotate.

Putting up the gear as we rocket out of 22R.

Making way to heading 090, due east awaiting clearance to turn again and intercept MERIT.

Turning to head for our interception of MERIT/HFD/PUT SID.  We were a bit choppy up here but loving it! :-)

Data from the PROG chart on the CDU

Finished scraping the northwest coast of Greenland, now headed for the pole.

View out of my office of the geographical North Pole.
